6 months ago I bought two $65 18v 3.0ah nickel metal hydride batteries from amazon. Both batteries now fail to take a charge in all of my 5 chargers. I have 10 nicad 18v batteries. The best are the Dewalt yellow and black 2.2ah nicads. The nimh batteries can not put out the current. They originally worked well in low current tools like radio or flash light and poorly in high current tools like saws. To summerize, nicads are cheaper, hold a charge longer, and will run in the tools better.
